We had a 25 hour trip from Chub Cay to Fort Pierce starting Saturday morning around 8:30 am. Beautiful sailing till about 1 pm when the skies darkened and rain was all around us. We were fortunate and only had showers for a brief time. However, the wind was crazy, right on our nose with gusts to 25, we were pounding into 6' rollers. It looked so bad all around us, we prepared for the worse but it wasn't so bad. After it cleared there were still dark clouds to the west, directly where we were headed. But, luckily, nothing else happened. We were anchored and settled by 10:30, deployed the dinghy and made it home to take luxuriously long showers and have a nap after little sleep the past day. Now for a month more in Florida (with visits to Jay and Caitlin's and Eric's) before heading home to our real home in Buffalo!
